It didnt' take very much work to find out, including what Jeff Roop (Drew) said in his interview, that Meghan Ory left the show b/c she wanted to pursue other things and the writers had to scamble to kill Sherrie off when they got back their funding for the show after a 3 month hiatus. I also know for a fact that the other things she was trying to pursue flopped; hard. The entire cast had to sign a contract for the season and she jumped through a couple of hoops to get out of it.
Question is: What do we as fans think? Can we blame her for ditching what she thought was a sinking ship of a show? Are we mad that she deserted what could have been a very interesting character and storyline? Or does everyone like how things went after she was gone? Maybe it was better with out her?
I personally think the writers scambled way too much to kill her off and part of me felt that episode wasn't as sad/gut wrenching as it should have been; esp for Drew. In fact, from Drew's reaction to everything and the fact that he was missing in the next episode, I thought that he had turned Sherrie, came back for her after they burried her, and ran off for a bit trying to help her adjust.
When I found out the truth and watched more of the episodes, I felt that there was a definite shock to the writers systems and they had to rethink a couple of things. It felt a bit disjointed at first, but after a bit I was getting use to Drew kind of dropping a little to the background in favor of the others and their stories. When they pushed him to the front, I was ready to see the whole Dillan thing take off......Again, what does everyone think?
I know that's alot, but I was thinking quite a bit about it after i saw the last episode....(besides the fact that the last episode drove me nuts!!! How could it end on that note?!j)
