I was so excited I posted the movie in the book section! You should all check out mtv.com b/c they have so many articles and mini movies about the movie! Stephanie Meyers has been working very closely with the production and you can find more information on www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight_movie.html

Stephenie Meyers is really awesome. I can't believe she just dreamed Edward and Bella up one day and just started writing about them She had a hand with every part of this movie, which makes me feel even more excited about this film. Anne Rice was the same way with "Interview with the Vampire" and look how that turned out ;D I felt like I was watching the book come to life. The author said that she had always pictured "Twilight" as a movie in her head. I just hope that the Twilight lovers out there aren't too hard on the movie. They did have to make minor changes that I think all Twilight lovers will grumble about but I don't think that the changes will be so much that they will take away from the books and upset everyone. Well, lets hope

I just finished stalking Stephenie Meyer's webpage and she has a great new update: The first finished scene of the movie is available on MTV.com for viewing!!!!! And let me tell you, I loved it! ;D Because everyone is not in the U.S.A., please go to her website so you can click on the links she has set up for all her fans in the UK and Canada to watch the new clip:) There is also a direct link for everyone else on her sight as well so we don't have to sift through a bunch of web-videos to find it

I've seen portions of the script's earlier drafts floating around on some of my communities a while ago, but that might be old hat by now. They were... about as interesting as the books (but my opinion doesn't really count in this case).
I just want the dazzle, so I hope they include it.

I watched this Movie today and I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that I did go into the movie blind as I have never read any of the books, therefore I didn't have any expectations. What did the rest of you think of it?

I think I'm going to wait for all of the movies to come out and then I'll buy the box set.... I did like it but I have some issues with it. I read the books and I knew that they weren't going to be able to include everything, but I felt it was lacking. I know that they can't go through the detail of character development but they were missing certain things that would have been easy to put in and added things that never really needed to be there. 1st: It took Edward and Bella months to get to the point where they were crazy over each other and even though they tried to illustrate that with a montage in this movie, it didn't come through and makes what they have together seem like just a major crush and everything that follows a big . 2nd: They cut the rest of the Cullen kids out of scenes that they were originally in, in the book. Just having them in those scenes reacting and behaving to situations would have given the rest of us major character insight. Like the get-away scene from James after the baseball game. They way they behaved in the car together in the book would have given a roundness to the rest of their characters (how they interact as brothers, Emmet's mind set, etc); and it's not like it would have taken that much effort considering that it's the exact same seen minus Emmet and I think Jasper. They were also all supposed to be at the dance in the end. When they go to the dance it's supposed to illustrate the changes that happened when Bella joined them (how she's part of their mysterious little group, how they do things as a family, how they're interacting more with the community of Forks as a whole). But the rest of Cullen clan ended up looking majorly flat; especially Jasper. 3: Clothing choice for the Cullens. This may seem petty, but their clothes were supposed to make them stand out even more than the rest of the kids at Forks = illustrating how they're trying to fit in, but still stand out b/c everything about them is beautiful and expensive. That Volvo was also supposed to stand out as the nicest car in the lot, but it fails to do that too. They just looked like the snooty kids, but still belonging. 4: The beach scene at LaPush fell short. Since when do kids that live in the rainiest, coldest part of Seattle get into surfing? That was so left field. And there were random bits about Bella that you don't get here. Like how she likes to wander and she likes different parts of nature even though she's ridiculously clumsy. Then there's the fact that Jacob was in no way that shy somewhat awkward kid from the book; I think this Jacob could have talked Bella into making out with him behind some random tree. 5: Then there's that weird scene when Edward takes Bella home and they stop at the police station...what was that about? Where they really so desperate to get a shot of Bella and Charlie being endearing that they threw this little bit of awkward filming in? You're supposed to get their growing closeness from the meals that she makes from him at home (not eating at a diner every night, where did that come from?) And when did Charlie become so extroverted? He's supposed to be this majorly awkward guy that pretty much only gets along with Alice and Mr. Black. I really could go on for a while, but I'm just nitpicking. The only real problem I have with this movie and the movies to come is that I feel they have and are going to rush the process to the point where the feel of the Twilight series is going to be lost when it hits the big screen. Did you know that there were other scenes that they didn't get a chance to shoot due to the weather? So this particular movie may have had way more going on, but was cut short....
