I think this topic was bound to come up in the end so I did it first. What are your thoughts on this show. Personally I quite liked it but there are some absolutly terrific episodes out there!

Managed to effectively balance the monsters with human issues. Excellent writing combined with amazing effects and a great cast. Instant cult classic from the moment it aired. 'Nuff said!

I wish it Vampire High would have made such an impact like Buffy did. Although I agree, a classic in its own right!

I agree an instant cult classic ..sure to be reparted on sky1 till the end of time Was i the only one not into the whole Buffy/Spike thing, probably because i loved angel/buffy so much hee. Oh ther last episode though it should of been 2 hours long, but i loved it when buffy even while geing stabbed got up and did her job . So sad when Anya dies too I think if vampire high had a second series then it might of done well not the same as buffy but had become more of a cult show and more well known than it was, good shows never get a chance to shine these days...

I do have to say I like Vampire High more, I am a VH freak! But thats me, Buffy was good but there was style to Vampire High that drew (no pun intended) me in. I mean there are some points to VH that I will never forget while Buffy was sometimes VERY generic.

I absolutley loved this show, although it did go through periods where I just wished it would end already! The character of Spike was fabulous the moment he showed up and the character development was wonderful.
I liked Angel even more than Buffy, although that show went through a bit of a rough patch. Connor. Urgh. Who thought *he* was a good idea? I could get into a debate about the whole vampire with a soul thing, but I'll restrain myself. Um, no I won't:
Angel was 'cursed' and given back his soul; he didn't actually want his soul or humanity back. If he experiences happiness he goes bad. Spike *was* bad, but he went through all manner of painful torture to regain his soul. He *wanted* his soul back. So that means that Spike when he was bad was a better man than Angel would ever be. The instant Spike became a regular on Angel, that show got a new 'hero'.
But yeah, Buffy was a great show. A real breakthrough in terms of what shows and content were perceived as being popular. It managed to be convincing across not only the horror/fantasy genre, but the action, comedy and drama genres too. Good stuff.

My love of werewolves got me instantly attached to Oz (and by extension, Seth Green who is a wonderful, talented actor - and not bad looking either! *lol*) which, for me, is a bad idea. After he left in Season four, I completely lost interest and I've only seen maybe five episodes from the last three seasons. *shrugs* (The same would have happened with VH had it continued and Marty, for whatever reason, had gone out of it. I'd have stopped watching.) I have to admit, I joined the Buffy crowd a lot later than most - in fact, I think the first episode I saw was "Phases", the werewolf Oz ep, naturally! From there I was hooked! Very original storylines, brilliant acting on the part of all the cast and, well, unusual takes on the world of "monsters". *applause for Joss Whedon!* I did see the final episode. And I agreewith you, Maidlola! What I saw of Anya made her passing so very sad. It makes you wonder what the heck they survivors would do afterwards. Would there be other Hellmouth's for them to investigate? *grinz wickedly* ;D 'Lissa

I think there is another hellmouth right, scne giles mentione dthat in the laxt ep..riiight at the end I was gutted they killed 2/3 of the trio gang and made them evil or murdered , Jonathan was so funny, i think series 6/7 went a little too dark especially series 6!! Melissa - LOVED Anya, hated her death, she was hilarious

I thought more time could of been spent on Anya's death, blinked and you would of missed it which I think I was annoyed about, too much was packed into that last episode. They could of done with an hour and a half for that last ep.

I used to watch Buffy lol it was my favorite tv show when I was 12. But... it seems to me that it's kind of repetitive after a while, which is probably normal for the number of seasons it played... but still lol. I looooved the musical though! I bought the soundtrack lol *starts singing* They got the mustard ooooouuuuut! okay sorry lol I loved Tara too shame, shame, shame on those who decided to kill her *cries* (I hope everybody knew that and I did not just give a spoiler cause if I did I'm hating myself at this precise moment... and sowwi lol)
