Hee, imagine my joy upon watching the new version of Flash Gordon (Flash! Ah-ahhh!), currently showing here in the UK on the Sci-Fi channel, and seeing our very own lovely Karen Cliche in a major role!
Episode 2 is re-showing today:
Sunday 16th Mar 08
19:00-20:00 Sci-Fi (Sky channel 129)
20:00-21:00 Sci-Fi +1 (Sky channel 130)
Then, Episode 3 shows at:
Monday 17th Mar 08
20:00-21:00 Sci-Fi (Sky channel 129)
21:00-22:00 Sci-Fi +1 (Sky channel 130)
Thursday 20th Mar 08
03:00-04:00 Sci-Fi (Sky channel 129)
04:00-05:00 Sci-Fi +1 (Sky channel 130)
22:00-23:00 Sci-Fi (Sky channel 129)
23:00-00:00 Sci-Fi +1 (Sky channel 130)
Saturday 22nd Mar 08
13:00-14:00 Sci-Fi (Sky channel 129)
14:00-15:00 Sci-Fi +1 (Sky channel 130)
And then the whole cycle begins again for the next episode(s)...
Now, onto the good stuff!
Karen plays Baylin, a tough, no-nonsense bounty hunter who is sent to Earth by Emperor Ming to retrieve his daughter who has fled in search of... a clever thingamajiggy I can't recall whats its called right now.
I kinda missed most of the first episode, but i've gathered that the thingamajiggy holds all the knowledge of the universe and ming wants it for his own ebil ends... naughty man that he is. Ming looks somewhat less terrifying in this incarnation, but hes more a monster by his acts than his looks. Anywho, said thingamajiggy is currently in the posession of an American (Canadian?) guy called Flash Gordon whose father was the man to steal it and bring it to Earth before he "died"...
Baylin was sent to retrieve the princess but Flash "destroyed" the thingamajiggy and the priness fled back to her own world, Mongo, leaving Baylin stranded on Earth.
Still not sure if I like this show or not - not being a huge fan of Flash Gordon to begin with, y'know? It's not overly spectacular - perhaps even a little predictable in parts, but it sure is good to see Karen on our screens some more! the lady needs more publicity! *lol*
Enjoy folks!
