I saw this show on Sky One ages ago. The first time round I didn't catch much of it, but when it came round again I recorded it infrequently and finally got around to watching it much later. Of course, once I started watching it, I wished I'd been more attentive!
It's about ex-cop (now a private detective), Frank Taylor, who, while searching for a kidnap victim, is attacked by the kidnapper. In the ensuing fight the kidnapper, Simon, is killed and Frank is seriously wounded. On the operating table he has a near death experience.
When he gets out of the hospital he begins to realise that he may have acquired some clients who might not be all that good for up front payments. 'Cos they're dead. Unfortunately, that includes the occasional visit from Simon.
This show stars Matthew Fox (currently in Lost) as Frank, and his performance is pretty darn good. The character development of Frank is fabulous. I especially appreciated this after having a bit of a Haunted marathon. In another of those television injustices, the show only last 13 episodes.
But (oh joy!) I just saw a promo montage for ITV4, and there were clips of Haunted in there. Salvation! Also, Robert Knepper (T-Bag in Prison Break) is in the pilot, so hurrah! I don't believe that it's on in the next 2 weeks, but it will return - perhaps it was an autumn preview that I saw. I canae wait!
