I think that was the idea, too looke fake. When drew did find something funny he would do that smile that was not actually a laugh!

LOL yeah i agree...just always made me laugh lol. Oh and every time Marty would make fun of drew or Karl all the others woud just laugh and the person being mocked would just walk away....funny how no one told Marty to stop, they just thought he was hilarious

*lol* Unless they were the butt of Marty's jokes, the vampires thought it was hilarious (unless he was ripping at Drew, in which case Merrill was naturally unimpressed! ) Speaking of Marty, I love his "Igor" impression in "The Test", including electrodes pinned to the sides of his head. I wonder if Murdoch let him wander off with the electrodes attached or whether he just did his own thing, as usual. *lmao* And, in the same episode, a few seconds later, Drew's surly assertion that the test had to be rigged if he failed and Marty passed is hilarious! *grinz* 'Lissa.

There was never a dull moment when Marty was around.

Especially his entrance, it was so Marty! "PRESENT!" Still makes me chuckle to this day!

Yes Merril always looked very unimpressed but secretly wanted to laugh out loud too LOL. I'm sure Marty walked off with those things by him self...

I think thats why Merrill had a soft spot, to the every day eye she wanted to be proper a good student yet Marty brought out everything she wasn't. The fun and excitement she has always wanted.

A simple case of opposites attracting! Fantastic, eh? Has anyone noticed the changes Merrill brought in Marty, though? Since the events of "Lost Weekend", he was subdued and less inclined to be scathing (well, 'cept for getting carried away teasing Karl in "Blood Trip" inadvertantly helping to lead to the tragic attack on Dillan - an event which subdued everyone!) yet no less funny. And in the episode "Breaking Up" 9where Karl and Essie take the Declaration of Love and then, well, break-up) the pre-credit bit at the beginning is hilarious. Karl's lack of interest in poetry and his impish teasing of Essie - much to her annoyance - is sweet and funny, proving Karl hasn't lost any of his boyish charm. And Marty's utterly lame attempt to hide from view while he's filming them play-fighting is just brilliant! Stealthy, he isn't, in that case. *lol* 'Lissa

I think the change in Marty became very clear in the final episode when he reflects on what he had done by killing people which he shares with Merrill. While Dillon has been attacked by Karl all the Vampires reflect on what they had done in the past. Very moving and well written!

Oh! Oh! I spotted a very funny Drew moment in tonights VH! In the episode "Sunrise" - where Drew becomes a bad boy for a while - its at the end where he returns the relic of Drakon to Murdochs safe. It is hilarious! Having just locked up the safe and thinking he was home free....he turns and wobbles to a halt as Murdoch is sat in the chair right behind him! There's no chance Murdoch hasn't seen what he was doing, yet Drew still tries to be nonchalent about it! Such a brilliant, if short, comedy moment! Kudos to Jeff and David! 'Lissa.

LOL, good one Melissa
Murdoch is always lurking behind people.
Essie's dress sense, i mean it's not exactly fashionable is it?? well back in 2001 i never saw anyone going around like Essie did, yet she thought she looked fantasic..which she did..most of the time but some outfits were just WTF were you thinking.
I actually thought Merril had the better chioce in clothes...even though Essie thinks Merril does not have an inch of fashion sense LOL...kind of ironic...to me

Oh God reading this makes me wanna see the episodes even moooore! *shakes fist at whoever decided not to make a second season* evil people... And I wanna see Marty kiss Merrill... I mean... whaaa he kissed her? rofl... well the clip I saw made it a bit obvious but it cut just before apparently *mumbles* I love in Odd man out when Marty is making the potion and he tries to cry and says "Mama?" with his little pitiful sad puppy face rofl so sweet and then he's like "Ah forget it" and he spit in the pot instead and say "Good enough" lol ^^ Marty is just so cool lol And also in Love's labour not lost when he says "Would it help if I sang?" lol love that one ^^ Oh and all the dialogue in Lost Weekend when he's about to bite/kiss her lol I won't type it down but I know it by heart rofl And also in Both Sides Now when Merrill (well evil her) steals Karl's stash of blood lol he's like "Hey that's my stash!" and she's just like "... so don't care" rofl Hmm... did any of you guess who my favorite characters are? Well Essie and Drew of course! *not true by the way, just in case lol*
