There is a Being Human convention scheduled for February 2010 and guess who desperately wants to go!! The following information is quoted from the Being Human fan forum and, for further information, here's a link to the Housebroken website.
Massive Events presents: Housebroken a 3-day unofficial convention for fans of the brand new UK supernatural comedy series "Being Human" focussing on three housemates - a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost trying to live as humans. This event will be held from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th of February 2010 at The Park Inn Bedford. This unofficial convention aims to bring together fans of the series from all across the UK to meet some the stars and supporting cast and enjoy various events over the weekend. We intend to have at least 7 guests over the weekend, but if tickets sell well for this event we will try to get the entire main cast and supporting cast as well for the event!! There will be activities each day from the usual guest talks and photograph sessions to quizzes and late night themed parties - including 'Doctors and Nurses' & 'Undead Monster Ball'!! For more information check out the website!
Now, before the rather predictable uproar over the prices - they are very steep but the website creator, SJ, has provided a full breakdown of what you get for your money. Of course, she is overtly selling the event too but she has some valid points, especially concerning the cost of autographs and pictures with cast etc.
So, who might be tempted?

£78 includes a free autograph form each guest, given there are usually about 6 guests, autos priced at £10 each, that is £60. Y our entry ticket also gives you entry to all of the guest talks over the weekend, plus themed parties at night, at which there is usually fantastic entertainment and they go all out on the themes, we've had bucking broncos for people to ride on in the past, and we had a freak show, and free popcorn/candy floss stall at our carnival theme in the past. You also receive a free 10x8 photo print of each guest so that you can use this to get your free autograph on from each guest (or you can choose to bring your own items).
£135 is approx £55 more expesive, but also includes a professional photo shoot with each guest, normally priced at £10 each, again coming to £60... and so you are saving money by buying a silver ticket. If more than 6 guests take part in a photo shoot then you're saving even more. You also receive a photo shoot photo of all of the guests attending that weekend that will be taken by the photographer and is usually given out on the Sunday morning so that you can get it signed if you wish... this is exclusive to the event, and may be your only shot at getting aphoto of all these actors together in one pic to get signed!
£195 is £60 more expensive, for this you can go to an exclusive drinks reception on the Friday night where you get free wine and nibbles, and get to meet and mingle with the guests on a much more personal level, it's great fun and some people think it is well worth the money. It also gives you seating in the first two rows of the event so that you ahve a great view of the guest talks, you get called first for photo shoots and autographs, plus you get gold pass goodies as well.
£1000 for the VIP ticket includes hotel stay in an ugraded room for 2 nights, which can come to £160, plus you get everything in the gold ticket and more, which is approx £200. You get a seat at the evening meal on the Saturday night with the guests which has been auctioned off in the past for £3000 (First Stargate event to sit with only 4 guests). Plus oher extras. To some people, the VIP ticket is worth it.
These prices may not be for you, but to some people paying that bit extra to mingle with the guests means everything to them. If you want to go and meet the guests, I think these prices are fair.

PS. it is also worth noting that to get their autographs at a siging event such as Collectormania they would be in fact charging £15 per autograph. They are sold £5 cheaper at the weekend events like these to make them more affordable for people who want to buy extras. So Taking six guests at £15 each - what they would charge at a signing event that comes to £90 plus there's usually a £10 entrance fee bringing it to £100 in total and that doesn't include any photo shoots, guest talks or evening entertainment!!!
