Sorry for the delay in reply, guys, but the router connection at home has gone down and I'm currently in the library...
As for "Blade : The Series", I have one word! Coooooool!! Okay sure, some of the fight scenes in the first episode have punches adn kicks which are obviously not connecting, but the plot is great. And, more importantly, it takes great pains to live within the world created by the three Blade movies - anything not possible in the movies is not possible here, either. I've only seen two episodes (the third is showing on Monday!! Woohoo!) but I'm hooked. Why'd they cancel it?!
The series takes place after the end of "Blade Trinity" and it appears at the moment that the Daystar virus wasn't wholly effective - vampire still walk and Blade is still slayin' 'em. Hehe! And, there's an added threat which, although not mentioned much by Blade and his new helper, Chen, will probably be a key plot point. There's a drug now available on the street for those with enough money called "Ash" and when inhaled by the user, it gives them all the powers of the Hominus Nocturni for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, it gives them the thirst too which causes a LOT of problems. (Hey! Randy Quaid has a guest spot in the first episode as a crackpot scientist, and a friend of Whistler (the father), who knows a lot about Blade and reveals some really interesting little facts about Blade's upbringing....)
But the focus of the story is, surprisingly, not on Blade but on a woman named Krista Starr, whose brother was in the service of, and was murdered by, the head vampire of the House of Kathan (sp?), Marcus Van Sciver. Marcus is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed dapper gentleman of a vampire who finds biting his victims beneath him and could conceivably be the most dangerous of all Blade's foes.
Like I said, can't wait for Ep 3....*checks the time left on the computer* Oops, gotta go! Catch ya later, gang!!
